Memorial 26 December Profile Little is known about Zosimus' life before his election as Pope. May have been Jewish by birth, and his father may have been named Abram. Tried to expand the power of the pontificate, but allowed his personality, and his personality clashes with local bishops, to enter into the matter. A number of his letters survive, as well as a Decree ordering priests to stay out of taverns. Fought Pelagianism and Pelagius himself.
