Choeronycteris: Mexican Long-nosed Bat, or Hog-nosed Bat
- English

The hog-nosed bat has been recorded mainly from arid habitats at elevations of 600-2,400 meters. It roosts in caves, tunnels, and buildings, usually in fairly
well-illuminated locations, and has been found under the exposed roots of trees in a shaded area. Indirect evidence indicates that colonies in southern Arizona
migrate south into Mexico for the winter months. The diet consists of fruit, pollen, nectar, and probably insects. [ eng ] |
