Hylonycteris: Underwood's Long-tongued Bat

The muzzle is elongate, the long tongue is supplied with papillae, the cheek teeth are elongate and slender, and the lower incisors are lacking. Hylonycteris
has three upper and three lower molars on each side, whereas Lichonycteris has two upper and two lower molars on each side. The interfemoral membrane is well
developed. This bat resembles Choeronycteris and Choeroniscus but differs from those genera in features of the skull. [ eng ] |
