In Venezuela, Handley (1976) collected four species of Tonatia, mostly in moist areas within forests, and he reported T. silvicola to roost in hollow trees and termite nests. The species T. carrikeri and T. brasiliense also have been reported to roost in hollowed-out termite nests, both abandoned ones and those still in use by the insects. [ eng ] |
