URL: http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/walker/chiroptera/chiroptera.phyllostomidae.sturn

In Venezuela, Handley (1976) found the following habitat conditions to prevail: S. bidens, high cloud forest; S. erythromos, moist parts of mountain forests; S. lilium, moist parts of forests and open areas; S. ludovici, moist places in forested mountains and foothills; and S. tildae, humid lowland forests. S. magna is found in forests at elevations of 200-2,300 meters (Tamsitt and Hauser 1985). Roosting sites of the genus include hollow trees and buildings. The diet consists mostly of fruit.
