Smoky Bats, or Thumbless Bats - English
URL: http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/walker/chiroptera/chiroptera.furipteridae.html

This family of two genera and two species inhabits southern Central America and tropical South America. There has been controversy regarding the systematic position of this family, though generally the Furipteridae are considered to be closely related to the Natalidae, Thyropteridae, and Myzopodidae and to belong in the superfamily Vespertilionoidea (Ibáñez 1985; Koopman 1984b). Fossils referable to this family have not been found.
