Самые интересные и своеобразные рыбы Байкала - голомянки составляют эндемичное для этого озера семейство. Голомянки - пелагические рыбы, всю жизнь проводящие в толще воды. Различают два вида голомянок: большую (Comephorus baicalensis) и малую (C. dybowski). Голомянки - живородящие рыбы.
