Distribution: Indo-West Pacific from South Africa to Hawaii and Easter I. Lower jaw fringed with a row of cirri. A knob projecting backward at the articulation of lower jaw. Snout fleshy and jutting beyond lower jaw. Lateral line goes down to ventral surface gradually or abruptly.
