Alburnoides Bipunctatus (small river bleak) - English
URL: http://www.philately.lu/poiss3.htm

The small river bleak belongs to the cyprine family, more commonly called white fish. It too is a rather small fish, since it rarely grows to more than 15 cm. It stands out because of its silvery skin, its reddish pink fin bases and a clearly visible curved lateral line. It feeds on insect larvae, small crustacea and molluscs. It also feeds on insects in the air when it is said to be “on the rise”. The small river bleak lives in shoals in watercourses which run more slowly than the habitats of the two preceding species. It can be found in rivers like the Our, the Wiltz, the Clerve, the Sыre.
