The Scarus teaniopterus grows up to 14 inches. The small size will come to you generally 1½ to 3 inches; the medium generally 3 to 5 inches; the large generally 5 to 8 inches. The Princess Parrot prefers a tank of at least 130 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

This queen parrotfish (Scarus vetula) is taking a bite out of some coral, while a couple of juvenile bluehead wrasse (Thalassoma bifasciatum) take the opportunity to undertake some cleaning work while the parrotfish is somewhat still. (photo: Frank and Joyce Burek).
