The Taenianotus triacanthus grows up to 4 inches. The small size will come to you generally 1½ to 3 inches; the medium generally 3 to 5 inches; the large generally 5 to 8 inches. The Leaf Fish prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

Though they look menacing, leaf fish are very docile animals. This specimen is typical in length, about 3 or 4 inches. It parks itself on the reef for long periods, and its body acts as a sail, swaying with the slightest current. The reflective, almost glowing eyes seem to add to the mysterious nature of this fish.
