The Odonus niger grows up to 12 inches. The small size will come to you generally 1 to 2 inches; the medium generally 2 to 3½ inches; the large generally 3½ to 5 inches; the XL generally 5 to 8 inches. The Niger Trigger prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. The Odonus niger is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of meats (fish, scallop, shrimp, squid, clam) & veggies.

The Niger Triggerfish is found mainly in the Indo Pacific and Red Sea.. There seems to be little difference in coloration from the two different regions. The coloration of the Niger Triggerfish seem to vary from blue to purple with many having a combination of the two.
