Early Man: Homo Erectus (Erect Man) - English URL: http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/emhe.htm
In the quest to explain human origins it is necessary to find a species that bridges modern man (Homo sapiens) with the apes. To fill this gap evolutionists have set forth Homo erectus, having lived by their time scale between approximately 400,000 and 1.6 million years ago. Although their definition is somewhat vague the following characteristics are generally accepted.
Creationist Arguments: Homo erectus - English URL: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/homs/a_erectus.html
The only Homo erectus fossils mentioned by many creationists are the Java Man and Peking Man fossils (discussed in the following sections). Most creationists consider both apes, although Lubenow (1992) considers both human. There are even a few creationists who consider Java Man an ape and Peking Man a human, despite the fact that many books stress their very close similarity.

Asian Expansion of Homo Erectus - English URL: http://www.mc.maricopa.edu/anthro/exploratorium/hominid_journey/asianerectus.htm
This begins the story of the last one million years of hominid evolution. The story begins with the emergence of a hominid known as Homo erectus around 2 million years ago. The story of what happened to this hominid in the last 1 million years becomes not only complex but controversial as Homo erectus moved out of Africa and spread into Europe and Asia. The story is one of variation and continuity.
