shown in filters: References and Indices This text is a revised translation of my stencilled handout-manuscript for different courses on metazoan morphology, systematics and phylogeny at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen / Germany,
under the supervision of Dr Gerhard Mickoleit. The definitions and comments refer to Phylogenetic Systematics sensu HENNIG (1959, 1982, 1984), SCHLEE (1971, 1978, 1981), AX (1984, 1988),
WILLMANN (1985, 1989) and SUDHAUS & REHFELD (1992), rather than to computer-cladistics and Pattern-Cladism that seem to be more Ğen vogueğ today. [ eng ] |

Nomenclatural Glossary for Zoology
This glossary is based on a text intended to aid indexers in the production of nomenclatural entries for the Zoological Record, the index to world
zoological literature published by BIOSIS and the Zoological Society of London. It covers terminology commonly encountered within publications
dealing with the systematics and nomenclature of animals. This version of the glossary has recently been extended to include additional terms listed
in the glossary of the new Fourth Edition of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature published in September 1999, and Article
numbers given within definitions refer to this Code. [ eng ] |

International Species Information System
- English
URL: http://www.isis.org/
ISIS is an international non-profit membership organization
(U.S. 501c3) which serves nearly 550 zoological institutional members, from 54 countries, worldwide. This is an unprecedented level of global cooperation by mostly
city-based facilities, presently including about half of the
world's "recognized" zoos and aquariums. ISIS supports
conservation and preservation of species, by helping member
facilities manage their living collections. ISIS provides PC
software for sound specimen records keeping and scientific conservation-oriented collection management, and then pools this information across the whole network. Information is available on 286,000 living specimens of 7,500 species, along with an additional 1,413,000 of their ancestors. [ eng ] |
