Существуют разные направления ЛВЕ: иппотерапия, лечебно педагогическая вольтижировка, конный спорт инвалидов и др. Пионер и родоначальник применения ЛВЕ в России - Детский экологический центр "Живая нить" - 9 лет применяет ее при работе с инвалидами страдающими ДЦП, аутизмом, синдромом Дауна и пр.
