Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) - English
URL: http://www.nsrl.ttu.edu/tmot1/turstrun.htm

Habits. Bottlenose dolphins may be seen in groups numbering up to several hundred but smaller social units of two to 15 are more common. Group size is affected by habitat structure and tends to increase with water depth. Group members interact closely and are highly cooperative in feeding, protective, and nursery activities. These dolphins make numerous sounds and are probably both good echolocators and highly communicative.

Tursiops: Bottle-nosed Dolphins - English
URL: http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/walkers_mammals_of_the_world/cetacea/cetacea.delp

Tursiops is found mainly in coastal waters, often in bays and lagoons, and sometimes ascends large rivers. In certain areas, however, it ranges as far offshore as the edge of the continental shelf. Many researchers recognize two forms of Tursiops, the smaller staying in shallow waters near the mainland and the larger occurring farther offshore.
