Sousa teuszii: Narrative - English
URL: http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/accounts/sousa/s._teuszii$narrative.html

Sousa teuszii lives in tropical waters close to the West African shorline. It is believed that they do not venture more than one or two kilometers away from the shore in an effort to avoid killer whale (/Orca orcinus/) predation. Killler whales attempt to find Sousa teuszii through echolocation and it is thought by some that, by remaining close to shore, Sousa teuszii remains relatively safe because land disrupts the echolocating abilities of the killer whale. When predators do near, the Atlantic humpack dolphin will seek refuge in reefs.

Sousa: Humpback Dolphins - English
URL: http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/walkers_mammals_of_the_world/cetacea/cetacea.delp

These dolphins are found in both salt and fresh water, inhabiting seas, estuaries, and the mouths of rivers. They sometimes ascend rivers and have been reported 1,200 km up the Chang Jiang (Yangtze) in China (Lekagul and McNeely 1977). One population of about 500 individuals seems to remain all year in muddy mangrove creeks in the delta of the Indus River.
