shown in filters: Publications Aimé Césaire est né en Martinique en 1913. Il obtient en 1931 une bourse qui lui permet de suivre des études supérieures à Paris. En 1934, il fonde la revuel'Etudiant noir avec Senghor, Damas, Sainville et Maugée, puis entre à l'Ecole Normale Supérieure. En 1936 il commence à écrire et en 1939 retourne en Martinique où il enseigne au lycée de Fort de France. En 1941, il fonde la revue Tropiques. A partir de 1945, date de son élection à la mairie de Fort de France puis à la députation, il mène une double carrière: homme politique et écrivain.
