Myriam Warner-Vieyra est née le 25 mars 1939 à Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) de parents antillais. Sa première expérience professionnelle est dans l'administration des P.T.T. à Paris. Arrivée au Sénégal en 1961, elle épouse Paulin Vieyra (premier Africain au sud du Sahara à faire des études de cinéma; Diplômé de l'IDHEC à Paris en 1954). Les études supérieures de Myriam Warner-Vieyra comprennent une formation à l'École des Bibliothécaires Archivistes et Documentalistes de l'Université Cheikh Anta Diop, à Dakar.

Myriam Warner-Vieyra est née à Pointe-à-Pitre en 1939. Elle a passé une bonne partie de son enfance avec sa grand-mère, à la Guadeloupe. Après s'être rendue en France où elle a achevé sa scolarité secondaire, elle est entrée ensuite à l'Université de Dakar où elle a obtenu un diplôme de bibliothécaire.

Myriam Warner-Vieyra was born in Guadeloupe, but has spent a large part of her life living in Senegal, where she has settled and raised her children. She works at the University of Dakar as medical librarian in the Pediatrics Institute. Her Caribbean-African experience has giving her valuable insights into the problems encountered in bridging the cultural differences of these two regions.

Myriam Warner-Vieyra (1939)je antilského pùvodu, narodila se v Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe). Jejím prvním zamìstnáním byla práce na po¹tovním úøadì v Paøí¾i. Roku 1961 pøijí¾dí do Senegalu, jejím man¾elem se stává Paulin Vieyra, jen¾ byl prvním subsaharským Afrièanem, který studoval film – na paøí¾ské ¹kole IDHEC. Myriam Warner-Vieyra studovala knihovnictví na Univerzitì Cheikh Anta Diop v Dakaru.

She then went to live in France, where she finished her secondary education and afterwards attended the University of Dakar, where she obtained a librarian's diploma.
