Le ngbandi est une langue non bantu de la famille Congo-Kordofanienne, branche Niger-Congo, sous-branche Adamawa oriental, groupe oubanguien. Cette langue est parlée au nord-ouest de la R.D.C., District du Nord-Oubangui, Province de l'Equateur. Elle couvre aussi une aire géographique importante en R.C.A., notamment dans sa partie sud-est. Nous ne prétendons pas avoir présenté un travail exhaustif, car nous nous sommes servi seulement des ouvrages consultés dans les bibliothèques installées à Mbandaka, et surtout la Bibliothèque Aequatoria.
