Война за Испанское наследство (1701 - 1714 гг). - Russian
URL: http://europa.km.ru/history/war5.htm

Conflict that arose out of the disputed succession to the throne of Spain following the death of the childless Charles II, the last of the Spanish Habsburgs. In an effort to regulate the impending succession, to which there were three principal claimants, England, the Dutch Republic, and France had in October 1698 signed the First Treaty of Partition, agreeing that on the death of Charles II, Prince Joseph Ferdinand, son of the Elector of Bavaria, should inherit Spain, the Spanish Netherlands, and the Spanish colonies.

Queen Anne succeeded her brother-in-law William III in 1702, and this conflict is sometimes known as "Queen Anne's War". As in the Nine Years' War, the underlying problem was the expansionary aims of France under Louis XIV. Britain was again allied with the United Provinces (the modern Netherlands) and the Emperor - the ruler of Austria, Hungary and Bohemia.

Queen Anne's War (War of the Spanish Succession) - English
URL: http://www.usahistory.com/wars/spansucc.htm

To prevent the close cooperation, if not the amalgamation, of France and Spain on the death of Charles II of Spain (1 Nov. 1700), the Grand Alliance (7 Sept. 1701), the Grand Alliance (7 Sept. 1701) declared war on France (4 May 1702). In New England the war followed the pattern of the previous conflict. The Abenakis raided Main settlements (10 Aug. 1703), and destroyed Deerfield, Mass. (28-29 Feb 1704), and attacked Winter Harbor, Me. (21 Sept. 1707).
