Reptiles of the World Photo Shoot Report for 2002 - English
URL: http://www.hoothollow.com/ReptilesOfTheWorld2001Report.html

For the last several years, we've been doing one of the most unique photo shoots offered anywhere in the country, our reptile shoot. For years, we called the shoot our 'Venomous Reptiles of the World Photo Shoot,' but we've amended that now, to reflect the huge variety of creatures we've brought in for filming. This year we had over 100 species of reptile, amphibian, and tarantula available for our shoot. Each group generally shot between 30 and 60 of these creatures, with those folks who did back-to-back shoots doing 50 or more different species.

Frog and Toad—In the Desert - English
URL: http://www.naturewriting.com/frogand.htm

Our small group of Desert Survivors, led by Craig Deutsche, climbed into the Panamint Mountains bordering Death Valley National Park through Surprise Canyon. A stream cascaded through the canyon, and we stepped in and out of the water as we pulled ourselves over rocks heading higher into the mountains. It was a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. A canyon wren’s trill welcomed us, stream orchids (Epipactis gigantea) bloomed beside us, hedgehog cacti thrust their purple blooms from the canyon walls, willows arched overhead, and at our feet—frogs and toads.
