Keep several specimens together in an aquarium of 100 liters (22 imp. gal) or more, at temperature of 22~28ºC (72~82ºF). Prepare plenty of refuges among the coral. This is one of the best aquarium species of the Pomacentridae. It is colourful, active and markedly less quarrelsome than others of its family.

One of the more common species of Atlantic damselfish, the Beau Gregory is a familiar sight to anyone who has gone diving in Caribbean waters. This species is pugnacious even in smaller sizes, and as it grows so does its aggression. This species should never be housed with docile species, or with other damselfish unless the are equally large and belligerent.
