Ground-Hornbills are huge prehistoric-appearing beasts of open grasslands & savanna in sub-Saharan Africa. If you have any doubt that birds are descended from dinosaurs, check out a young ground-hornbill and become a believer! Watching a family group of these huge birds scavenge along a roadside in Kruger Nat’l Park, South Africa, was one of the highlights of our visit there.
