Baiji, or Whitefin Dolphin - English

The single known genus and species, Lipotes vexillifer, has been recorded from the mouth of the Chang Jiang (Yangtze) to a point about 1,900 km up that river, from Dongting and Poyang lakes, and from the Quiantang River just south of the mouth of the Chang Jiang.

Baiji are found in the lower reaches of China's Yangtze and Quintangjiang Rivers. The population density is equivalent to 1 dolphin every 2 miles.
