Habitat and Behavior. Nocturnal. Eat beetles, ants, flies, spiders, crickets. Drinks drops of water from leaves and juices from berries. Lives from 4-10 years. Live on Monito Island located between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Monito Island is covered with a xeric scrub vegetation consisting primarily of cacti, shrubs, and stunted trees growing from cracks in the limestone. It is relatively flat on top but is surrounded on all sides by nearly vertical cliffs ranging from 1OO to 15O feet, the bases of which have been undercut by wave action in some areas to a distance of 8 to 1O feet. Access by boat, although difficult, is possible at one point during calm seas.
