This flat-field data list is provided as an introduction to the holdings in our ichthyology collection at UMass Amherst. Most materials indexed here (4126 lots) are preserved as conventional fluid specimens stored in isopropyl alcohol. Many additional holdings - particularly cleared and double stained specimens as well as dry skeletal preparations - are not included here. This index is organized by Nelson's (1984) family numbers and names. You are welcome to download this listing, which you can then search on your machine by using a conventional word processing program. [ eng ] |

Collection of Arthropods - University of Georgia Museum of Natural History
- English
URL: http://entomology.ent.uga.edu/collection/
Georgia is the largest state east of the Mississippi River with 58,910 square miles spanning five major physiographic provinces (Appalachian Plateau, Ridge and Valley, Blue Ridge,
Piedmont and Coastal Plain) and two climatological zones (subtropical and temperate). These large-scale biological and physical patterns support a tremendous amount of arthropod
diversity. By encompassing the southern limit of two provinces (Blue Ridge and Piedmont), the Georgian arthropod fauna has significance for biogeographical studies of North America. [ eng ] |
