Schlangenähnlich, Vordergliedmaße fehlen, Hintergliedmaßen stark rückgebildet. Schlanker langer Körper, etwa 2/3 davon entfallen auf den Schwanz. Verwachsene Augenlider mit einem durchsichtigen Fenster im unteren Lid. Im Schädelbau stehen die Flossenfüße den Geckos (Geckonidae) nahe.
