Ïîëó÷èë ìåñòî ó÷åíèêà â þðèäè÷åñêîé êîíòîðå â Éîõàííåñáóðãå, ó÷èëñÿ çàî÷íî â Þæíî-Àôðèêàíñêîì óíèâåðñèòåòå. Èçó÷àë ïðàâî â Âèòâàòåðñðàíäñêîì óíèâåðñèòåòå.  1952 âìåñòå ñ Îëèâåðîì Òàìáî, ëèäåðîì ÀÍÊ â èçãíàíèè, îòêðûë ïåðâóþ àôðèêàíñêóþ þðèäè÷åñêóþ ôèðìó â Éîõàííåñáóðãå.
