The Blue Gourami is a color-morph of the Three-spot Gourami which actually has only two spots unless you count the eye as the third spot. These are a beautiful fish that get quite large, about 6 inches. They are a good community fish when small but can get belligerent or territorial when they get large.

Les juvéniles ont un caractère vif et pacifique alors qu'à l'état adulte, ils deviennent parfois agressifs, surtout les mâles. La présence de plusieurs mâles n'est donc guère recommandée. Le Gourami bleu est un excellent choix pour tout aquarium communautaire de grand volume. Cependant, la cohabitation avec des espèces plus petites peut devenir source de problème tout comme son association avec des poissons trop turbulents.
