Distribución en Costa Rica: Hбbitats disponibles en la tierras hъmedas de la vertiente caribe y al sur de la vertiente pacнfica. Se localiza desde el nivel del mar hasta los 3.000m., aproximadamente.

Heavily forested areas, often around rocky ledges, are preferred habitats. The known elevational range is 175-1,375 meters. These animals have been taken among rocks, along logs, on the banks of streams, and at the base of palm trees. Some have been shot as they climbed in palm fronds 9 meters above the ground.
