The list that follows is a catalogue of the papers of the economist Piero Sraffa. Sraffa was born in Turin in 1898 the son of Angelo Sraffa, Professor of Commercial Law and Irma nйe Tivoli. The young Sraffa was educated at the Liceo d'Azeglio and at the University of Turin where his honours thesis Monetary inflation in Italy during and after the War gained the approval of his tutor, Luigi Einaudi.

One of the economic giants of the century, Piero Sraffa was at the same time one of the sparest writers of economics - yet each one of his few pieces was tremendous in its turn. Sraffa's 1926 article on returns to scale and perfect competitions (a revised version of his 1925 Italian paper) highlighted a glaring inconsistency in the Marshallian theory of the firm.
