Rufous-bellied Seedsnipe, Attagis gayi The Quito - Papallacta - Baeza Road connects the capital on the
central plateau with the Amazon basin in the east. The road
ascends through humid paramo, small stands of Polylepis forest,
reaching Papallacta Pass at 4000 meters, and finally descends
through montane cloudforest by the time one reaches the town of
Baeza in the subtropics. [eng]
