Emballonura: Old World Sheath-tailed Bats E. monticola is a forest species; it has been seen flying in dense shade during the day (Lekagul and McNeely 1977). This species roosts in a variety of rather exposed sites, including inside hollow logs, under overhanging earth banks, between boulders, and in rock shelters; in caves it rarely penetrates beyond the twilight zone, and it may occupy brightly lit sectors.
