Cloeotis: African Trident-nosed Bat In this genus, the well-developed tail is longer than the femur. Three pointed processes, tridentlike, are present at the back of the nose leaf. The ears are rounded and short, scarcely projecting above the level of the hair. Cloeotis resembles Triaenops in that its nose leaf has a tridentate posterior portion but differs in such cranial characters as its larger braincase and lower rostrum. [eng]
