Triaenops: Triple Nose-leaf Bats
T. persicus has been found in a cave by the sea in South Yemen, associated with Coleura afra and Asellia tridens. This species was collected in Oman while flying around the opening of an underground water tunnel. It apparently roosted in the tunnel in small numbers, along with hundreds of Asellia tridens. The Triaenops emerged quite early in the evening, while there was still light, and flew low over the ground. [eng] |
