Dactylomys: Coro-coros These rodents have been found in dense vegetation near water. The type specimen of D. peruanus was taken at an elevation of 1,800 meters. Coro-coros are apparently arboreal and nocturnal. They grasp branches between the third and fourth digits and can run swiftly. Emmons (1981) found D. dactylinus to be most common in forested areas disturbed by selective logging. [eng]
