Epicurus
Epicurus, the founder of Epicureanism, taught his ideas from the garden at his Athenian home. People came from all over Greece to hear his teachings and discuss philosophy. The Garden of Epicurus became a sanctuary from the turmoil of the declining ancient Greece. It is ranked as one of the great schools of antiquity, along with Plato's Acadamy, Aristotle's Lyceum, and Zeno's Stoa.
