Zoogoneticus tequila
V únoru 1998 uveřejnilo periodikum Museum of Zoology, The University of Michigan, popis nového druhu živorodky doposud monotypického rodu Zoogoneticus. Ichthyologové Webb a Miller ji objevili při rutinním studiu preparovaných ryb z povodí Río Ameca, pocházejících z roku 1955. Terénní výzkum (1990) potvrdil malou populaci poblíž městečka Tequila (1311 m.n.m) na Río Teuchitlán (oblast Jalisco v Mexiku, viz mapka ) a v některých kratších přítocích. Přestože byl vytipován výskyt i na dalších lokalitách, kde by mohla žít společně s rozšířenějším druhem Z. quitzeoensis, jinde nebyla nalezena. [ces] |

Zoogoneticus quitzeoensis
Alles über Goodeiden, Goodeidae, die lebendgebärenden mexikanischen Hochlandkärpflinge. Konservierte Exemplare von Zoogoneticus quitzeoensis und Zoogoneticus tequila sind kaum zu unterscheiden, da die Körperfärbung verblasst. Dieses gilt insbesondere für die auffällige Färbung der Schwanzflosse von Zoogoneticus tequila, die fast nicht mehr zu sehen ist. [deu] |

Zoogoneticus tequila
The species was only discovered by Smith,Rodriquez,Butler and Lambert in 1990 yet just 10 short years latter and it would already appear to have disappeared. Fortunately though there are a number of reliable colonies of this species around the world not least amongst them the one at Morelia University. This species seems to be very popular in the hobby too, as not only is it quite colorful but also very peaceful and will readily fit into an average community tank. [eng] |
