Megaderma: Asian False Vampire Bats
These bats roost in groups in caves, pits, buildings, and hollow trees and are usually the sole occupant of their retreat. M. spasma generally inhabits wetter areas than does M. lyra (Lekagul and McNeely 1977). M. lyra is carnivorous, feeding on insects, spiders, and small vertebrates such as other bats, rodents, birds, frogs, and fish. [eng]
