Freshwater Ecosystems
You'll find a wide variety of animal life in or around fresh water ecosystems. Aquatic birds, amphiphians, mammals and of course, a wide variety of fish. Many species of plants live in fresh water ecosystems. Plants protect our shorelines and riverbanks, provide habitats for wildlife and fish, as well as provide food for many organisms. [eng]

Marine Ecosystems
Come discover marine creatures from the tiny zooxanthellae that make the coral reefs home to the giant mammals of the vast seas! You'll find out how tiny ocean plants like plankton provide food for mammals as large as whales and huge ocean plants like the giant kelp are used in some of our food products. [eng]

Australian Wetland Online
Using natural systems for water treatment, Australian wetlands design wetlands, sedimentation basins, and rootzone soil filters for treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater and stormwater. Australian Wetlands also specialise in wetland management and ecology, and modelling of wetland treatment performance. Australian Wetlands can supply wetland plants for any wetland system. Wastewater to be treated may arise from mining, agriculture, aquaculture, wineries, abattoirs, food processing, sewage treatment plants, and tip leachate. [eng]

Toxic Chemicals in Coastal Environments
Based on NOAA's responsibility as a trustee for coastal resources, scientists in the Coastal Protection and Restoration Division work to evaluate threats that toxic contaminants pose to fish, marine mammals, and other aquatic species, as well as their supporting habitats. We assess the effects of contaminants on the environment, help develop protective cleanup plans and coordinate projects to restore affected rivers, estuaries, and other coastal ecosystems. [eng]
