Volendo stilare una graduatoria d’importanza dei concetti proposti da Freud nel corso della sua elaborazione, transfert occuperebbe il primo posto. Se ci si spinge un po’ oltre il luogo comune che lo descrive in termini romantici come affaire sentimentale tra analizzante e analista, ci si accorge che esso viene impiegato già nell’Interpretazione dei sogni per indicare il lavoro di condensazione e spostamento cui sono sottoposte le immagini oniriche.
