History and Czech
Czech is a member of the Western Slavonic family. Although it shares many similarities with Latin, it is regarded as being closely related to the Baltic
languages because of their declension patterns (Mann, p. 19, 1977). The most recent ancestor of Old Czech is what is referred as Old Church
Slavonic. [eng]
