Fish & Shellfish Immunology
This journal rapidly publishes high-quality, peer-refereed contributions in the expanding fields of fish and shellfish immunology. It presents studies on the basic mechanisms of both the specific and non-specific defense systems, the cells, tissues, and humoral factors involved, their dependence on environmental and intrinsic factors, response to pathogens, response to vaccination, and applied studies on the development of specific vaccines for use in the aquaculture industry. [eng]
National Shellfisheries Association
The National Shellfisheries Association, founded in 1908, an international organization of scientists, management officials and members of industry, all deeply concerned with the biology, ecology, production, economics and management of shellfish resources - clams, oysters, mussels, scallops, snails, shrimp, lobsters, crabs, among many other species of commercial importance. [eng]
Subphylum Crustacea
Approximately 30,000 species make up this Subphylum. Most are aquatic; of these, the majority are marine but some are found in fresh water. Members of the Subphylum include lobsters, crabs, crayfish, shrimp, copepods, barnacles, and several other groups of organisms. All have two pairs of antennae, a pair of mandibles, a pair of compound eyes (usually on stalks), and two pair of maxillae on their heads, followed by a pair of appendages on each body segment (crustacean bodies usually are made up of head, thorax, and abdomen, although the segments composing these tagmata differ among different Classes). The appendages are primitively branched (biramous), and although this condition is modified in many species, adults always have at least some biramous appendages. Crustaceans respire via gills. Like other arthropods, all have a hard but flexible exoskeleton. [eng]

Index to Crustaceans of Southern Australia
The crustaceans in southern Australia are part of a diverse, endemic fauna of marine animals which live along this coast. The hundred or so photographs in this web site represent a small part of this fauna and serve to introduce the biology of marine crustaceans. Our aims in presenting the photographs are to illustrate the diversity of form among crustaceans and to encourage an interest in this forgotten part of Australia’s own biota. The text contains general information about some of the major groups and more detailed observations about some species. [eng]
