Museum of Costume
The Museum has a collection of fashionable dress from the 18th century. The women’s collections include some 80 gowns and many accessories to dress. The men’s collections include suits and coats from the later 18th century and approximately 70 waistcoats dating from the 1720s to the 1790s. History of Costume, by Braun & Schneider - c.1861-1880
"Zur Geschichte der Kostüme" was printed in Munich originally as individual plates in a German magazine titled "Münchener Bilderbogen." Later, these plates were collected and bound into book form consisting of 125 pages, with 500 costume designs. These plates consisted of historical dress from antiquity to the end of the 19th century. [eng]
