Molecular phylogeny of lemurs based on DNA sequences
Reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships among Eulemur species or E. fulvus subspecies remain contentious. It is still unclear if there is a genetic difference between the Malagasy and Comorian populations of E. mongoz and E. fulvus. The phylogenetic position of Varecia within the Lemuridae remains uncertain, as does the species and/or subspecies status of V.v. variegata and V.v. rubra. [eng]
