Lerista bougainvillii (Gray, 1839)

This 15 cm lizard is found in most parts of Victoria, the southern highlands and slopes in NSW, and south east South Australia. It is usually found in rocky areas. The taxonomic status of this lizard is in doubt. A burrowing species it is usually caught during the day when found sheltering under ground litter.
