Cirrhitidae - Hawkfish
The hawkfish are a relatively small family, but contains some
of the most popular marine fish in the hobby. They are easily
recognized by their peculiar pectoral fins, which they use to prop
themselves up as the rest on the substrate. It is perhaps this habit
of perching atop a rock or coral head that they are best known for. [eng]

A popular and attractive species that typically is
readily available. One of the more peaceful hawkfish species, the
Longnose is less likely to bother tankmates than its larger
brethren. Prefers to perch upon sea fans, either living or dead,
but will survive just as well without one. [eng]
