The Wood Duck is the sole North American representative of the genus Aix. The only other member in the genus is the Mandarin Duck of East Asia (Aix galericulata). It has also been know by the following common names: Carolina Duck, Summer Duck, Acorn Duck and Branch Duck. [eng] |
