The creation and evolution of Chinese characters are closely interwoven with the development of Chinese culture. Chinese characters are the basic carriers of the traditional Chinese culture, and, as an important tool for extending, spreading and exchanging ideas, they have played a critical role in the long history of the Chinese nation. The Structure of Chinese Script
Above we have discussed the development of the Chinese script from Jiaguwen, Jinwen, Zhanguo script, and Xiaozhuan down to Lishu, Caoshu, Xingshu and Kaishu. These developments represent the shape and style changes of the Chinese script. However, we also mentioned the terms Xiangxing, Zhishi, Huiyi, Xingsheng, Jiajie and Zhuanzhu, which describe the structure of Chinese characters.
